Streetsboro tops Ravenna 10-1 behind strong outing from Rein
STREETSBORO, OH- The Streetsboro Rockets were back on the Field Friday afternoon coming off of a huge win over Field. They would welcome in the improved Ravenna Ravens who were looking to bounce back from a loss to Coventry. Streetsboro squashed any worries of a letdown as they banged out 12 hits en route to a 10-1 win over the Ravens.
Ravenna would draw first blood in the top of the 1st. Shyanna Dillbeck would lace an opposite field double scoring Jocelyn Smallwood who had singled earlier in the inning giving them a 1-0 lead after the top half.

The Rockets would answer back in the bottom half. Olivia DeToro walked to lead off the inning. She moved to second on a Mallorie Gierke sacrifice bunt. Then the two out rally started with a Hailey Miller RBI single to tie the game 1-1.

Rockets pitcher Amy Rein then blooped a single to right field that scored Miller with Rein moving to second on the throw. That was followed by a Nevaeh Monroe RBI single putting the Rockets ahead 3-1 after one.

Both teams would go scoreless the next two innings as Rein and Smallwood kept this a 3-1 game heading to the bottom of the 4th.
Miller and Rein opened the inning with back to back singles. After a groundout Kaidence Cox drew a walk to load the bases. Olivia Knepper sent a grounder to second, but the force attempt at home was unsuccessful as run number four came across. With the bases still loaded, Khloe Cutright sent a fly ball to right field that allowed pinch runner Sydney Burfield to score from third on a sacrifice fly making it a 5-1 game.

After Olivia DeToro reached on a error that brought home a pair of runs, Mallorie Gierke singled home another to make it an 8-1 Rockets lead after four.

Amy Rein had settled in after a slow start in the 1st. She allowed a single in the 5th but no damage. In the bottom half Cox would smack a line drive for a double followed by a Knepper sharp single to center scoring Cox extending the lead to 9-1.

In the top of the 6th Ravenna would get two aboard with one out. Layla Dorris sent a pop fly to center with the runners on the move. The baserunners appeared to think there were two outs and Dillbeck was doubled off of third base to end the inning. Rockets still led 9-1.
Streetsboro would add another in the bottom half. Ella Simpson doubled to left driving in DeToro who singled to start the inning.

The Ravens would put two on with two out in the top of the 7th, but Rein was able to induce a ground ball out to end the game. The Rockets take this one 10-1.
Rein went the complete game 7 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 8 hits with 5 strikeouts. Olivia Knepper was 2/3 with 2 RBI. Ella Simpson, Hailey Miller and Rein also had multiple hits for the Rockets.
Jocelyn Smallwood led the Ravens offense with 3 hits.
